GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION NEEDED AFTER WINDSTORM DEVASTATES TANGLANG COMMUNITY IN GOMBE STATE

In the early hours of Tuesday, 20th August 2024, a powerful windstorm accompanied by heavy rainfall ravaged parts of Tanglang community in Billiri, Gombe State, causing extensive damage. Trees were uprooted, roofs were torn off, and walls were knocked down in several homes.
Mr. Paul Malachi Audu (Dan Galadima and National Chairman of the Tanglang Community Development Association) remarked, "The night before last, the rain came with a heavy windstorm that uprooted trees, pulled off roofs, and knocked down walls. The census of those affected is still ongoing as I am yet to get the figures."
While no lives were lost, the affected community members are in urgent need of assistance. Residents have called on the government to shift its attention to Tanglang and provide much-needed emergency relief and support to aid in the recovery efforts.
Prayers are being offered for the safety of the people, and the community is encouraged to confirm the well-being of their loved ones.
